AFRICA MAGIC VIEWERS' CHOICE AWARDS 2026
A multi-phase digital campaign taking the AMVCAs from call for entries to the live show, building anticipation, driving audience participation and bringing Africa’s biggest celebration of film and television to life across digital platforms.
Year :
2026
Industry :
Entertainment & Media
Client :
CANAL+
Project Duration :
5 months

Problem :
The AMVCAs are a multi-phase campaign spanning several months, beginning with calls for entry and building through nominee announcements, voting, event promotion, and the live awards ceremony.
The digital challenge was to maintain audience attention and campaign momentum across each phase while shifting communication objectives as the awards journey progressed. Content needed to inform, drive participation, build anticipation and ultimately support one of Africa’s biggest live entertainment events.
With multiple platforms, audiences, stakeholders, and commercial requirements in play, digital needed to operate as a connected campaign ecosystem rather than a series of isolated promotional moments.

Solution :
A multi-phase digital content strategy was developed around the full AMVCA campaign journey, with each stage supported by its own editorial priorities, content formats, and audience calls to action.
Planned social content, graphics, video, and talent-led storytelling created continuity across the campaign, while agile production and publishing workflows enabled the team to respond to emerging moments in real time. During the live event, content operations shifted into rapid-response mode, identifying high-interest moments and turning them into platform-ready assets while conversation was still unfolding.
This combination of structured campaign planning and real-time execution allowed digital to support key business and audience objectives without losing the spontaneity and cultural relevance that make live entertainment compelling.

Challenge :
Delivering a digital campaign at the scale of the AMVCAs meant coordinating a complex network of teams, platforms, production environments and stakeholders across multiple African markets, all working towards a live event with immovable deadlines.
The operation brought together editorial, social, design, video, production, technical and commercial teams, often working across different locations, cultures and time zones. Content moved through multiple stages of capture, editing, approval and publishing, while competing priorities from broadcasters, sponsors, talent, production partners and audiences had to be managed without slowing the operation.
Live night intensified that complexity. Multiple content streams ran simultaneously across the red carpet, backstage, ceremony and social conversation, with teams identifying moments, transferring assets, editing, writing, approving and publishing in real time. Connectivity issues, delayed assets, technical failures, last-minute production changes and unexpected live moments had to be absorbed without disrupting the audience experience.
The challenge was therefore not simply producing content quickly. It was building and leading an operation resilient enough to keep a multi-market digital campaign moving when dozens of moving parts, people and technologies had to work together under live-event pressure.
Summary :
The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) digital campaign is a months-long, multi-market operation designed to build momentum from the first call for entries through nominations, voting, awards night and the conversation that follows.
Across each phase, strategy, editorial, social, design, video, production and audience engagement work together to turn individual campaign milestones into one connected digital experience. On event night, that operation becomes a live content engine, capturing and distributing the moments shaping conversation across Africa in real time.
The result is a digital ecosystem that does more than promote or document the awards. It extends the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards experience beyond the broadcast, connects audiences to the event at every stage and helps sustain its position as one of the continent’s defining entertainment and cultural moments.
